Latest news for MTHA Residents:

NOTICE: I just found out that this Saturday, January 28, BP will partner with Trees for Houston to plant more than 150 trees along WestLake Park Boulevard as part of its campus beautification plan. The family-friendly event is planned from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the WestLake Campus Energy Park. If you are interested in participating, please email John Curry at john.curry@bp.com. Due to the Saturday event and planned crosswalk construction, the right northbound lane of WestLake Park Boulevard from Memorial Drive to Gracie Lane will be closed to through traffic. After that point, both northbound lanes will be closed to Grisby Road. The southbound lane of WestLake Park from Gracie Lane to Grisby Road will effectively become two way traffic. If you plan to attend or if you plan to travel on campus Saturday, it is recommended you travel on BP Way to either get to or from I-10 and Memorial. Police officers will be on site to divert traffic through the campus accordingly.

Greg Sergesketter has been named to head up our Super Neighborhood Group. Congratulations, Greg. The honor is well deserved.

Memorial Thicket is a small subdivision located on Memorial Drive in the energy corridor approximately seventeen miles west of downtown Houston.

Created by the Landar Corporation in 1979, Memorial Thicket is currently made up of 156 single family residences  which range from 2400 to 6800 square feet.  Median home size is 3600 square feet.

According to year 2009 preliminary appraisals provided by Harris County
Appraisal District, market value of the homes in Memorial Thicket ranged
from $301,000 to $750,000.  During the 2008 calendar year, 11 homes sold with sales prices ranging from $310,000 to $585,000.

Of the 156 homes in Memorial Thicket, 126 are located in the Houston Independent  School District.  The remaining 30 homes at the southern end of the subdivision fall within the Katy Independent School District.

All streets in Memorial Thicket are public thoroughfares. However, with a single entrance on Plainwood Drive and twenty-four-hour armed-guard service,  Memorial Thicket enjoys a superior measure of security.

Deer on Barker Dam

Wing Maintenance

Joel Draut (who used to shoot for the Houston Post) took these pictures not too far from us.  The deer is on top of the Barker Dam (you can see the Westlake buildings in the background) and the bird picture is on Buffalo Bayou just east of Hwy. 6.  Amazing the wildlife we have around us.
