739 Last Arrow Tom and Lynn Gullette have designed a wonderful mostly shade garden with low maintenance shrubs and perennials. Four large Live Oaks form the tree layer. Colorful shrubs in the shady beds include boxwood, Firebush (Hamelia patens), azaleas, holly, lorapetalum, aralia, nandina, and Texas sage. The perennials ground layer includes frog fruit (native), Jack-in-the-pulpit (native), phlox, liriope, pentas, ferns, and ardisia. Additional color is provided by annuals planted among the shrubs and perennials. Coleus fill multiple large planters. The large variety of plants is displayed in front of the front porch and wraps around the corner to enclose a courtyard garden. An inviting garden bench with more plants is a wonderful place to observe the many birds and butterflies. Unfortunately I don't believe I've ever seen Lynn sitting on the bench because she is having fun puttering in the plants. [Thanks to Becky Cook for this write-up)
September Yard of the Month - Lynn & Tom Gullette
Our Memorial Thicket students have returned to school. Please drive slowly and be especially watchful for our children when driving in and out of the subdivision.
A New! picnic table has been installed on the east lawn by the guard house. It is for everyone’s use and provides a safe place for our children and parents to wait for the school buses. Please enjoy this new addition!
