Yard of the Month
The Yard of the Month for May is the Betche residence, 15502 Old Stone Trail. The homeowners' love for gardening and landscape design is evident throughout this expansive corner property. Stone planters filled with colorful annuals are tucked among the beds of azaleas, society garlic and blooming agapantha while black iron urns filled with yellow Calibrachoa flank the front door. On the east side of the property is a majestic oak tree which Larry and Karen have lovingly "babied" through Harvey's flooding, freezes and droughts, as well as a new "experiment" (the homeowner's word) of a large bed of purple, blue and pink hydrangeas.
The homeowners have used numerous and diverse trees throughout the landscape. A brilliant maroon-leafed Red Bud and a giant Southern Magnolia in full bloom add to the verdant and multi-textured beauty of this consistently "picture-perfect" property.
