Yard of the Month
The Memorial Thicket℠ Yard of the Month for November is the Tracy family home at 814 Spear Point Cove. Their nicely filled-in plantings are tidy, yet lush with a combination of structural evergreens and layers of textural leaf shapes and a variety of colors.
The beds are edged with tasteful stacked stone. The foundation plantings of boxwoods are layered with contrasting loropetalum fringed in aztec grass, purple heart and liriope with room for seasonal color such as pansies. These thoughtful plantings complement the more formal architecture of the house.
The entrance is flanked with well-maintained variegated privet and full, lushly planted pots on the front steps with butterfly iris, sweet potato vine, coleus and pansies. The edge of the property is lined with variegated pittosporum, highlighted with crape myrtles, a vitex and flowing miscanthus grass. Enhancing the entrance is the beautiful arrangement of colorful pumpkins cascading down the steps.
