Yard of the Month

The Memorial Thicket℠ Yard of the Month for August is 823 Elk Run Circle. The landscape at the Homeyer residence is always very well maintained. This lovely property backs up to the original Buffalo Bayou. Flowing beds wrap around the front and sides of the yard with a beautiful Magnolia Tree, Crepe Myrtles and a Holly Tree tucked in.

The Boxwood Hedges are perfectly manicured and Knock Out Roses abound on one side of the home. Dianellas and Foxtails are woven through the beds. Ornamental shrubs add an architectural flair while the grasses soften the feel of the landscape.

Check out this gem on the west side of the neighborhood!

Eldridge at Memorial Construction

The "right turn" lane from southbound Eldridge to westbound Memorial was to be closed beginning today. As of this evening, the lane is still open. Once closed, the lane will be closed until the end of the project, which may not be completely finished until December. Very, very few motorists ever used this turn, so it should not be much of an issue.

The issue at that intersection continues to be, however, the left turn only lane on southbound Eldridge. Many motorists either go straight out of that lane or jump into the next lane at the last minute. The City is acutely aware of the issue, which could easily be resolved, but has refused to make any changes.
