Coyotes
Seeing Coyotes in our neighborhood has now become almost a daily occurrence. Whether it is in the Green Belt area or on the streets of the Thicket, Coyotes are out in force right now.
I am a longtime resident of the Thicket and I have never seen this many Coyotes, or heard this much howling or wailing. Just recently there were six Coyotes traveling in a pack along the Bayou. And tonight, just seconds after a woman with a baby stroller walking along the Bayou passed, two Coyotes popped up right where she had been. Some of these Coyotes are rather large; astonishingly one that has been seen is the size of a German Shepherd!
If you have cats or dogs that tend to wander, now is the time to keep them in. Be sure to keep an eye on your pets. As well, if you are out walking, always be mindful of your surroundings.
