Introducing the DCCR Committee
In our continuing commitment to enhance homeowners' property values and maintain the attractiveness of our neighborhood, the MTHA Board has appointed a new committee – the DCCR Committee. Our goal is to ensure our Memorial Thicket℠ homes are in keeping with our long-standing DCCR requirements.
We have noticed, and many neighbors have reminded us, that some neighbors have become a bit lax with regard to following our DCCRs. It's time for a spruce up! And we are asking you the homeowners to help us in this effort.
When you decided to move into Memorial Thicket℠, I believe there were three items that helped you seal the deal: 1) You and your family loved the home! 2) A safe and secure neighborhood was important to you with our on-site security guards and 3) The appearance of an orderly, tidy neighborhood convinced you that your home value would remain high. Unfortunately now, trash is consistently being left at the curb, athletic equipment is being left out for weeks and the list continues on. We can do better. I would ask you to think of our new committee as being part of a team effort. Each homeowner would be contributing to a neighborhood that reflects the million-dollar value many homes in Memorial Thicket℠ now enjoy.
As well, it is a great pleasure for me to announce the Chair of the DCCR Committee, Andres Portillo. You will be seeing much more of Andres out and about in the neighborhood. As you know, the MTHA Board consists of all volunteers, and to that end we simply want to see home prices rise and our neighbors to have a sense of pride in the community that each of us belongs to. We love Memorial Thicket℠ and that is why our entire Board is working so hard to keep our community flourishing.
Wildflowers
Please do not pick wildflowers (don't mind one or two). On Saturday, a group of eight wiped out about half of the Indian Paintbrush in the field behind Memorial Thicket. That means fewer will go to seed for next year's crop, not to mention the loss of seeing those that were picked. "Take nothing but photographs — Leave nothing but footprints.”
