Construction on Eldridge
The number of northbound and southbound lanes of Eldridge has been reduced north of Memorial. The current plan is for this traffic pattern to remain in effect for 60 days. For the 30 days after that, the same reduction will be in place plus the right turn lane from Eldridge south to Memorial west will be closed. Of course, this is subject to change. Given the backups already occurring, you might be better off exiting at Hwy. 6 and making the U-turn back to Westlake.
I would say that you can find out about this project and sign up for future notifications here, however, Engage Houston has been down for well over a month now.

Mayor Whitmire Meeting
Mayor Whitmire had some information from a meeting held on Monday night:
He has recently been briefed by the FBI that Houston (not New York City or Washington, D.C.) is the highest risk city in the nation for action by our adversaries (the primary one being China), including cyberattacks.
The balanced budget draft for the City will be issued May 1st.
City government has been neglected for years.
Currently, there are 1,000 broken water mains. I find this difficult to believe, but he said Houston wastes more water in a day than Ft. Worth uses in a year.

That's All Folks!
