Burglary On Herdsman

Last night, a home on Herdsman was burglarized and items were taken. Initial indications are that this burglary was targeted and not random.

The burglary happened before midnight and could have been as early as 8:00 p.m. according to what we have been told. HPD responded shortly after midnight with three officers dispatched to the home. An alarm call was not received by the guard on duty. No indication exists that the home had an operating alarm system as required by our deed restrictions.

HPD asked for and has been provided footage from our security cameras. If you have any information that may be of help, please contact the guard (713.501.5406) or Jerry Fabian, VP Security (713.854.7957).

If you do come home and see that your home has been entered, immediately leave your home as the intruder may still be inside. Call the guard, who will come and either clear your home or will call HPD and wait on-site until HPD arrives and clears your home.

Each home in Memorial Thicket℠ is required to have a working burglar, fire and emergency alarm system that notifies the guards when triggered. If a break-in occurs, the triggering of the alarm not only may stop that burglary, but also others in the chain. If the first one goes undetected, then that can lead others to occur; your system not only protects you but also protects your neighbors.

MTHA has a contract with a private company, Smith Thompson (713.492.1064), to monitor our homeowners' alarms. There is no charge for basic monitoring as Memorial Thicket℠ covers that cost.
