Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We have all had a rough end to 2017 and a difficult start to 2018. But as I look around Memorial Thicket I’m seeing great signs of progress, with homes being rebuilt and refurbished, yards being replanted and improved. I know it has been hard, but we are “Keeping Calm and Carrying On” as best we can. We have the challenges and opportunities to remodel and redesign our homes, to meet new neighbors, and reignite friendships put on hold—sometimes for eight months. We are sorry to see our old neighbors leave, but happy to welcome new neighbors and friends. Thanks to everyone who has helped and lifted up those of us who have needed (and still need) some assistance to keep going.
I want you all to know that the Woman’s Association Board has met, and lots of activities have been planned, some new and some tried-and-true. Everything from a Progressive Poker Party (new) to our Annual Christmas Walk (tried-and-true).
We’re starting the ‘new’ year off with a Happy Hour in June (adults only, please) and a Taco Truck party in August (a family affair). In September we will have our annual “Soup’s On” event (and membership opportunity, lunch, and an introduction to MTWA). These three events will not involve any charges to you, our members, but we hope that you will join the Women’s Association to help defray some of the costs. We need your support to continue to have quality events in the Thicket.
MTWA dues for 2018 will be $40.00, and your checks can be dropped off at my house (743 Last Arrow) or deposited in my mailbox. Come on by, I’d love to see and talk with each of you.
Again, we’re planning a lot of activities for this year, and WE NEED YOU TO MAKE THEM HAPPEN!
Hope to see you soon,
Pat Hicks President, MTWA June 6 Happy Hour in the Thicket (adult event) 5-7 p.m. 743 Last Arrow Dr. Bring your drink of choice and an appetizer (water and tea will be provIded) RSVP: 832-230-4087 or 281-435-8383
